Experience the thrill and excitement of the birth story of Jesus over 2000 years ago. The story of Christmas comes to life through this simple yet poignant outdoor production in the front parking lot of the Bryson City United Methodist Church. Although we continue to add characters to our Nativity scene each year, the story is timeless. Visitors will receive the old traditional gift of a paper bag filled with an apple, an orange, candy, and nuts.

Story Time

There will be a campfire-storytelling session every half hour starting at 6:30 -7:00-7:30 pm. Children of all ages are invited to listen to Pastor Wayne Dickert tell the story of Jesus’ birth around a campfire.

Roast marshmallows over our outdoor firepit and make delicious s’mores anytime during the evening. There will also be hot chocolate and coffee available fireside.

Experiencing the Living Nativity

Drive, walk, bike, or whatever. Vehicles – van sized and smaller can be accommodated through the Living Nativity scene. Visitors may drive through or park in the back parking lot, located by the Restoration House off Academy Street, and walk on our lighted path to the Nativity. Our storytelling campfire where we make s’mores is beside the Living Nativity in front of the church.
